You will love the Suzuki Jimny even more after seeing this version of the boat

The Suzuki Jimny is a charming vehicle because of its small size, affordable price and off-road capability. Car kit maker Dutton offers a conversion to the previous generation Jimny that allows drivers to take the vehicle to even more places, like in the water. Affection highlights the amphibious vehicle in a new video.

The Surf uses all of Jimny's mechanical parts, and Dutton adds a water jet propulsion system like the one you would find in a personal boat. This configuration avoids having a propeller suspended under the vehicle where it could be damaged. The steering wheel always controls the direction of the vehicle in water, as on the road.

In addition to Jimny's mechanical parts, the Surf uses stainless steel components to resist corrosion in water. The body is made of plastic for the same reason. In the UK, Dutton sells all the parts to be converted into a kit, or customers can ask the company to complete the construction.

The process of changing the powertrain from driving the wheels to running the jet seems fairly easy once someone is used to it. An operator simply pushes the clutch and moves certain levers. Once in the water, the accelerator pedal always controls the power, so the captain of this strange team is very similar to driving on the street.

Although small, Surf is capable in the water. Company founder Tim Dutton made two trips across the English Channel in his amphibious SUV. It took about six hours to make the trip.

According to the video, surfing costs around £ 10,000 ($ 12,190 at the current exchange rate). For a vehicle that you can use on the road and go overboard without towing a boat, the cost doesn't seem too bad.
