Ingredients pineapple, lime and coconut:

This is a simple and quick recipe that you can add to any barbecue or grill party. This side dish is sweet and savory and is one of our family's favorites!

  • Pineapple: Cut in to spears and lie down while roasting.
  • Butter: Melt the butter before adding it to the marinade.
  • Brown sugar: This added sugar takes this pineapple to the next level.
  • Coconut cream: Bring all the sweet coconut cream.
  • Coconut flakes: Add a sweet texture to the coconut flakes.
  • Lime: Lime juice

Grilled pineapple:

Let the pineapple marinate in the mixture for an hour or two before roasting to soak the added sauce. This makes it rich and creamy, but not necessary if you don't have the time. When you're ready to grill, make sure the grill is at the right temperature for medium heat. This will prevent the spears from tearing the grill apart and giving it a charred appearance.

  1. Prepare the pineapple: Place the pineapple spears in a saucepan.
  2. Marinade: Mix the melted butter, brown sugar, coconut cream, coconut flakes and lime juice. Spread half the mixture over the pineapple.
  3. Grilled pineapple: Grill over medium heat for about 7-10 minutes, turning and basting once. Remove from grill and use the rest of the sauce as desired.

The recipe of the Critic Pro board:

Coconut milk can replace coconut cream. You will soon want to buy the canned version of coconut milk. It is a little thicker and creamier than coconut cream.

Marinate the pineapple in a glass bowl with a whisk.

How do you cut pineapple?

I like to cut my pineapple into quarters from top to bottom. Cut the core and cut into smaller quarters. You can also cut it into circular rings. It is best to cut the slices evenly so that the cooking process cooks evenly through the pineapple.

How long does roast pineapple last?

  • Can you make roast pineapple in advance? Yes! Just cut your pineapple ahead of time. As it quickly browns, add orange juice on top to soak the citric acid and prevent the pineapple from browning. You can also marinate the pineapple in the mixture for 1 hour before roasting it.
  • Fresh pineapple: If you cut the pineapple and dip it in orange juice, put it in an airtight container and keep it in the fridge for 2 to 3 days.
  • Grilled pineapple: Once your pineapple is roasted, let it cool and place it in an airtight container to keep it for 5 to 6 days. When you're ready to cook in the microwave for a few seconds or use a pan to heat, it will stay flavorful. Avoid using aluminum foil or fresh fruit. It will remove the flavor and discolor the fruit.
  • Can you freeze pineapple on the grill? Yes, let it cool and put it in a ziplock bag, lay it flat and add it in the freezer for 1 month. Add pineapple to smoothies or water like an ice cube!
