Hungary approves Chinese Covid-19 vaccine, first in EU

Hungary’s medicines regulator has approved China’s Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine, Surgeon General Cecilia Müller, the first EU country to do so, said on Friday. Hungary has already approved the vaccine from Russia. The government on Thursday said it would grant emergency use authorization to any injection already given to at least one million people around the world, Reuters reported. Prime Minister Viktor Orban said he would personally choose the Chinese vaccine.
