Command & Conquer: Aftermath is free game mod for C&C: Generals Zero Hour. It’s more than just an overhaul, as it introduces a new campaign that follows the title it’s based on. If you like strategy games and similar modes, you should check out RA3 Epic War Mod and Warzone 2100.

While Command & Conquer games are no longer being made, it’s great when modders show up and continue stories like this. To make it more exciting, you’ll see improved vehicles and buildings to match the new themes. The visuals and sounds also have some improvements.

Continuation of a story

The third world war in the universe of Command & Conquer led to the fact that the planet turned into a wasteland. The rest of the nations met in discussions and made plans restore what they could. As in the nature of mankind, conflicts arose over valuable territories. The United Power Corps (UEC) was formed to keep the peace.

While the UEC interfered in politics and became power-hungry, a new army emerged on the side called the Free Development League. The Oil and Gas Energy Consortium was born in the Middle East. All three discuss who should start a new worldIn the aftermath, a new war arises.

Upgraded units and buildings

The name of the strategy is similar to most Command & Conquer games. You will play as different sides as long as there are missions for you to complete. The main goal is usually to destroy your opponents on the map. For Command & Conquer: Aftermath you will have upgraded vehicles and buildings that apply to each team.

Improved graphics and sound

The visuals have been slightly reworked and each card updated textures and items enjoy. Sounds are crisp and clear, bringing a sense of nostalgia to the table. Although Command & Conquer: Aftermath was released in 2022, the developer is still working on patches and fixes for any visual or performance issues.

When the war returns

Command & Conquer: Aftermath is an outstanding contribution to the C&C universe, especially since we haven’t seen any new games in a long time. It brings a new story with different units and buildings and also you can apply a few upgrades.

Of course, you will need C&C: Generals Zero Hour as a base game to use this mod. It rewrites most of the content so you can enjoy the new campaign and elements. I hope there will be more content like this in the coming years.
