Angry IP Scanner can scan IP addresses in all ranges as well as ports. It is cross-platform and lightweight. It requires no installations, it can be freely copied and used anywhere.

Angry IP Scanner simply pings each IP address to check if it’s alive, then possibly resolves the hostname, determines the MAC address, scans ports, etc. The amount of data collected about each host can be expanded with plugins.

It also has additional features, such as NetBIOS information (computer name, workgroup name, and logged-in Windows user), favorite IP address ranges, web server detection, customizable openers, etc.

Scan results can be saved in CSV, TXT, XML or IP-Port list files. With the help of plugins, Angry IP Scanner can collect all information about scanned IPs. Anyone who can write Java code can write plugins and extend the functionality of Angry IP Scanner.

To increase scanning speed, it uses multithreaded approach: a separate scanning thread is created for each scanned IP address.
