Scripting and annotating videos requires special tools that allow you to adjust the content of clips and their placement in the timeline. Annotation Transcript is a macOS application designed to deal with both.

User-friendly design and built-in media content previewer

The Annotation Transcriber main window is designed to simplify the annotation process: you can import and preview the video for processing, add timecode and text snippets, and export the data to a file.

Right away, you should open the movie you want to transcribe: Annotation Transcriber includes a minimalistic media player that includes a timeline, play/rewind buttons, and displays timecode. Also, you can adjust the playback speed.

For your convenience, the annotation transcriber also enables you to visualize the audio waveform so you can see exactly when the video audio track will change.

Create and assign clips, and instantly swap video previews

The Notes Transcriber can be used to create an unlimited number of clips and attach a keyboard shortcut to each entry: this allows you to quickly add timecode by using a specific button or pressing the Option+Command+I hotkey, then use the clip for appending text keyboard combination.

The video preview and text area are separate by default, but you can use the Swap button to bring the image closer to you: the movie panel will be placed on top of the text editor.

Annotation Transcriber provides a simple solution for creating text files that can be synchronized with your video by adding timecode to each entry. However, during our testing (executed on a 2GHz Intel core duo iMac running Mavericks), the application crashed frequently, so you should check that it works on your configuration.
