If you have friends or family who live in another country, it may be important to know the time in different countries. You don’t want to wake them up at 4am just to chat.

There are different time conversion tools (for desktop and online bots) that can help you know the time in a city on the other side of the world. Big Ben

Additionally, BigBen supports up to 285 cities, which can be selected from the drop-down menus for each city in the main window.

BigBen’s main window shows entries for some selected cities (configurable from preferences), the date, and the current time. You can also choose to sort the timers by city, city/country or GMT.

Also in the Preferences window you can adjust date settings, time format and colors. An additional option allows you to set the behavior of the application on startup: normal or floating.

The normal/floating state of the main window can also be toggled from the View menu or by hitting the CMD + Y keyboard shortcut. In the next menu called Utilities, you can set a new location or set daylight saving time.

As an added bonus, BigBen shows red and gray bullets to the left of city entries. Red bullets indicate where DST is currently in effect, and gray bullets indicate where DST is not currently in effect.

All in all, the app provides a simple and reliable solution to check the current time in a city of your choice while taking up minimal screen space and resources.
