How to use the updater:
1. Connect the LinkStation properly and configure the LinkStation and computer to run the update program on the same network subnet. The subnet masks should be the same, and the first three digits of the IP address should be the same. The last digit of the IP address should be different.
For example, if the computer’s IP address and subnet mask are
“192.168.0.10, 255.255.255.0”
The LinkStation’s IP address and subnet mask are
“192.168.1.150, 255.255.255.0”
Then the updater will not work properly.
In this case, please reconfigure the LinkStation’s IP address and subnet mask
“192.168.0.150, 255.255.255.0”.
Then they will be on the same subnet and the updater will work properly.
2. Close all applications. Also, stop or exit any firewall software.
3. Unzip the downloaded file and run “LSUpdater.exe”. When the LinkStation is detected, an update window will open.
4. If multiple LinkStations are connected, select the LinkStation to update.
5. Click Update and enter the LinkStation’s administrator password.
6. Click OK.
7. The firmware transfer and update will begin. Wait until it’s done. The information LED will flash during the update.
8. When the update is complete, a message will be displayed.
Regarding network attached storage updates:
Upgrading network-attached storage (NAS) firmware can improve the overall performance, stability, and security of your system by adding various fixes for related issues, enhancing existing features (or adding support for new features), or updating different applications.
Due to the large number of NAS manufacturers and types of network storage, installing new firmware may not always be as easy as it seems, nor is it secure. Failure to perform software updates may cause serious failure of network storage.
Therefore, before you consider applying this version, please read the installation guide carefully and start the process only after you understand and are completely familiar with all the steps.
Additionally, it is best to consider using a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) for this task, as power interruptions will not affect the upgrade.
Taking all these aspects into consideration, after reading the installation guide, click on the download button to apply this firmware version to your NAS. Please remember to check back on our website to stay up to date with the latest releases.
