There won’t be a shortage of ChatGPT apps for the foreseeable future, and that’s not a bad thing. You have more apps to choose from, and the technology is only going to get better.

has a unique name such as Chat GPT, this particular desktop client is one of the most sophisticated clients currently available for macOS. It lets you access the service from Mac apps and adds a bunch of useful features like shortcuts, commands and tips, menu bar integration, and text-to-speech.

Familiar ChatGPT interface

If you’ve used the web version of the service, the UI looks pretty much the same. Once logged in, you’ll see your conversations and controls on the left, and the actual chat on the right. It’s almost the same as the Web UI, with some differences.

You have options to export conversations as Markdown, PNG, or PDF, you can copy specific responses to the clipboard, and there’s a text-to-speech button if you want to hear the text spoken aloud.

Commands and Prompts

If you go to the app’s control center, you can sync the list of ChatGPT hints from the aptly named repository Great ChatGPT Tips. These are some really cool examples of things you can do with language models that can give you interesting ideas or save you time.

These prompts can then be inserted by simply typing /(slash) in the text input area. This will bring up the available commands for these prompts, and execute them when you press Enter.

Menu bar integration and custom URLs

The app is accessible from the menu bar and completely hidden in the Dock, with many customization options for both the main window and the menu bar window.

If you like, you can change the URLs that the main window and menu bar shortcuts point to, and they will be wrapped into the desktop application.

In short, this ChatGPT client is perfect for users who want more features to use with the service, while still enjoying the convenience of accessing it outside of the browser.
