Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE), originally known as Sybase SQL Server, is a relational database system focused on modernizing and accelerating transaction-based applications on-premises and in the cloud.

When one wants to connect such functionality to a development environment, e.g. Python or Python based applications, users can rely on dedicated connectors like Python connector for ASE.

This library is specifically designed to provide users with a way to connect between Python-based applications and ASE to be able to perform a variety of tasks. These tasks may involve creating, reading, updating, and deleting stored data.

Like similar connectors from Dewater, this version also follows the Python DB API 2.0 specification and is suitable for 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. In terms of actual connections, the library uses the TCP/IP standard for direct connections through the SAP ASE relational database server.

Not only does this eliminate the need for a database client library, but it also improves data transfer speeds between selected Python applications and the ASE server.
