Discord is a real-time messaging platform. Among its highlight features, the presence of “Rich Status” is particularly noteworthy, as it lets your friends know what you’re currently doing.

However, setting up custom rich state is a bit more difficult than it needs to be. It is therefore recommended to use a third party tool to do this: Customized rich presence

Allows you to customize your status to your liking, enabling you to add images, links and structure it the way you want.

You have to take some extra steps to make everything work properly. Go to the Discord Developer Portal, add a new application, and copy the ID onto the program interface. If all you’re after is a simple and clear status message, this is it. If you want to insert an image, you have to navigate to the Art Resources menu and add a photo there. Don’t worry if your photos disappear after refreshing the page – it’s just that Discord has a delay in processing these things. Wait a few minutes and the image should update accordingly.Select them from the program interface and click renewyour custom rich state should look just like you want it to.

Some extra customizability

Text can be entered in detail and state field. As for what will appear on your Discord status, detail is the first field, and state It’s the second one: the former has a slightly larger font, so keep that in mind.

You can also set custom timestamps, so you’re free to do whatever you want. You can also add a link which will appear at the bottom of your status.

The reliable way to customize your Discord Rich Presence

It really isn’t difficult to customize Rich Presence’s settings, and I didn’t have any issues during my testing. For added convenience, I’ve found the program’s ability to launch minimized on startup to be extremely valuable if you want the new rich status to always be displayed: make sure to toggle these features through Settings, though.
