DOSBox is a popular cross-platform emulator for running MS-DOS games on macOS and other modern operating systems. The macOS port has been available for a while, but it can be difficult to use because changing its settings requires editing configuration files.

Dapplegrey is a frontend for DOSBox that allows you to explore its available options and customize everything you want from a more intuitive user interface. It can also be used with other DOSBox ports such as DOSBox SVN, DBGL, DOSBox Staging, and DOSBox-X.

The application will search for any DOSBox ports on startup and allow you to customize game options directly from its UI without having to manually edit configuration files for each game. Dapplegrey will create a configuration file before launching DOSBox and write it to the drive.

The user interface is fairly intuitive and is divided into multiple tabs. You can select the games you want to manage, which can be made easier by filtering by category.

You can then customize the display, CPU, keyboard, input, sound, mixer, and various other options from the following tabs. The game will use these settings when it launches without you having to manually edit the configuration file.
