There are several translation apps available in the market with the option to translate between multiple languages, using a camera, microphone or simply translating written text. The Google Translate app is notoriously good at this, but I’d say the more options we have, the better it is.

deep translation is one of the options. It promises to translate texts in 29 (twenty-nine) languages, so it contains quite a lot of vocabulary. English (US), English (UK), Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Dutch, Russian, Ukrainian, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian are just a few examples and the list goes on. If you can’t find the language you’re looking for, use the search box.

The user interface is simple and intuitive, with the translation window being the most important one. The window is divided into two areas, top and bottom. At the top, you can find the language selection section menu. Choose a language to translate or specify auto-detection and let it do its job.

The upper area is where you can type or paste the text you want to translate. But not just typing, because DeepL Translate comes with options to import images or files for translation, dictate text through the microphone or use your phone’s camera to take pictures or whatever you need to translate. The app recognizes text in images and provides instant translations. It can even read aloud if you prefer. You can copy translations to clipboard, save them as favorites or share them with third-party applications.

The next window is the save window. You can find a history with all your translations and a list of translations you’ve saved as favourites. The last window is Settings, where you can change the speech speed and enable or disable translation history.
