To update the firmware with Surface connected:

1. Download the latest firmware and save the .zip file.
2. Remove any previous dLive firmware from your USB drive. To do this, check the USB AllenHeath-dLive folder and delete the existing firmware folder and Firmware.md5 file. Do not delete other files or folders.
3. Unzip the .zip file to the root directory of the USB drive. Do not change the folder name or browse the firmware folder, because doing so may damage the firmware. Attempting to navigate or open files in this directory may cause your operating system to leave small temporary system files, which will invalidate your firmware.
4. Safely remove the USB drive from your computer.
5. Connect dLive Surface to dLive MixRack via gigaACE or network. To do this, insert a Cat5 cable between one of the Surface gigaACE/network ports and one of the MixRack gigaACE/network ports.
6. Insert the USB drive into the dLive USB port, and then touch Update on the firmware page. dLive will restart to the “Boot Loader” screen, and if a valid firmware is found on the USB drive, it will display the current version and version details found on the drive.
7. Tap the update button. Don’t interrupt this process. Failure to complete the transfer may result in damage to the firmware. Ensure that the main power supply and connection cables are reliable, and that the system will not be disturbed or shut down during the update process.
8. After the firmware is successfully installed, the system will automatically restart.
9. After the system is fully booted, call the template performance or user performance to restore your settings.
