The latest Lenovo Legion gaming laptops not only feature a backlit keyboard with TrueStrike technology but also a simple design that’s perfect for typing. Unfortunately, as many Legion users have noticed, the keyboard defaults to a white light that highlights the buttons. This is a bit surprising considering that most gaming laptops display RGB lighting on the keyboard.

L5P-Keyboard-RGB is a tiny tool designed for the latest Lenovo Legion laptops that allows users to control the lighting of the 4-zone keyboard. It should be noted that since this is not official Lenovo software, use this program at your own risk. The app was tested on 2021 Legion 5 and Legion 5 Pro models and is not currently available for Legion 7(i) models. While it may work on other models, users are advised that this may also cause crashes or other issues.

As far as RGB effects go, the app comes with a variety of commonly used effects, including left and right waves, smooth, static, and breathing. Additionally, it includes a number of custom effects, most notably smooth waves and slides, which can also be integrated into the first effect.
