About IP camera firmware update:

Updating to a firmware version newer than the one already installed on the IP camera can improve the overall performance and stability of the device, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing features.

Downgrading camera firmware, on the other hand, restores its functionality in the unlikely event that the currently installed version fails or the device degrades after an upgrade. However, keep in mind that it may not always be possible to apply an earlier version.

Changing your camera’s firmware is necessary when a new version fixes a problem you’re having with your device or adds new features (or enhances existing features) that might be useful to you.

As for the installation method, the steps vary depending on the model you have, but basically, you have to connect your camera via an ethernet cable (username and password required) and upgrade your unit using the downloadable file in the firmware update section. Make sure you did not interrupt the installation process.

However, be sure to read and understand the installation steps carefully to avoid damage to your equipment. This process is not intended to be disruptive, but it is a good idea to save all configurations before applying a different firmware.

That said, if you think this firmware improves your device in any way, hit the download button and get the version you want; if not, check our website as often as possible so you don’t miss out on updates that improve your camera’s performance.

It is strongly recommended to always use the latest driver version available.

Try setting a system restore point before installing the device driver. This will help if you have incorrect or mismatched drivers installed. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or no longer supported.
