Rockrell It is an open source application that can control the layout of the model train from one or more computers. It runs on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Raspberry Pi, and uses the wxWidgets toolkit. The utility supports automatic and manual modes for controlling trains through blocks, routes, timetables, and complex modes.

Client-server architecture

The program uses a server and a client that work together through the Internet protocol. It is not mandatory to run them on the same computer.

Rocrail can be used from a single PC directly connected to the layout, and you can control the layout from any computer on the home network or the Internet. It also supports a web-based interface, enabling you to run layouts from various web browsers.

The server (Rocrail) can be used with a variety of controllers, namely Märklin’s 6051, Uhlenbrock Intellibox, Loconet, SRCP connection (such as DDL/DDW), etc. The client (Rocview) connects to the server through the network and can be used to plan the layout.
