RTSP/RTMP/HTTP/URL DirectShow source filter Decompresses and processes audio and video live streams, providing support for RTSP, RTMP, HTTP, TCP, MMS and UDP protocols and broadcast sources including RealAudio and Shoutcast.

The filter features low-latency decoding of live streams and can establish synchronous and asynchronous connections. The advantage is that the main thread is not obscured in any way. Audio streams can also be captured and encoded into PCM, MP3 or AAC formats, but users should disable these for lower latency decoding. Minimizing latency requires them to specify zero buffering and disable video sync.

It can also be retransmitted to another destination URL in UDP unicast/multicast or RTSP format.

Users can also add text watermarks to videos and adjust brightness, hue, and saturation in real time.

This filter not only decodes multimedia streams in real time, but also records the original video stream without transcoding and saves the result locally in one of the compatible formats (MP4, MKV, AVI, FLV or MOV). You can pause the recording process while continuing to preview the video. New files can be generated while recording is running.

It also has a snapshot feature to save the output as PNG, BMP, TIFF or JPG files.
