– After a firmware upgrade to upgrade the touch screen firmware, your device’s built-in display may go black or become unresponsive for approximately 10 minutes.
– Update your device by changing the device firmware release channel to Release Candidate in the UniFi web app.
– If you want to return to the official version after upgrading, please change the release channel back to the official version.

– All URLs use HTTPS. This assumes that your device is running version 3.7.56 or higher and that the device’s date is set correctly. For devices running older firmware or if the date is incorrect (for example, if the device cannot reach the NTP server), change the URL to HTTP.
– You may start seeing EVT_AP_RestartProc events in the controller logs. If you see these, please report if there is anything specific in your settings that triggers these events. Process restarts are not new, but reports of restarts are, and we are using these reports to clean up these issues.

– UIS-8-450W upgraded from version 4.0.33 and earlier will automatically upgrade its PoE firmware to improve PD compatibility. The process will take several minutes. PoE will not be available during the upgrade process.
– USW-16/24-PoE running 4.0.44 cannot be directly upgraded to firmware 4.0.60 or higher. Please upgrade to this version via custom upgrade first, then you can upgrade it to firmware 4.0.60+.

About the switch firmware:

Given the wide variety of switch models and different upgrade methods, if you wish to apply this package, we recommend that you read and understand the installation steps before installing new firmware, even if you are an advanced user.

Usually the update process is not troublesome, as manufacturers try to make it as easy as possible; however, there are exceptions. First, go to the switch’s System Information page and check if the currently installed version is newer or matches this version.

Applying new firmware reduces security vulnerabilities, enhances overall performance and compatibility, improves various power management features, resolves different bugs, and adds support for newly developed technologies and protocols.

It is recommended that you perform this step in a stable power environment (such as that guaranteed by a UPS) and do not interrupt the upgrade in any way as this may cause the switch to malfunction.
