Gramps is a family tree software that helps you create your family tree with intuitive tools. The utility has proven to be easy to use for inexperienced users, yet has the depth needed by professional researchers studying family trees.

Genealogy software that can store multiple family tree details

GRAMPS immediately launched the Family Tree Manager, where you can view a list of currently available family trees and load them into the editor or create new ones.

Once in the editing area, you can enter details about people, relationships and families. Based on the data provided by the user, GRAMPS will automatically generate a diagram describing the connection.

In the GRAMPS app you can store details about each person’s gender, dates of birth and death, special events, properties, addresses, and even create image galleries. This way, you can view all relevant information related to a particular topic in one place.

Create a database of all the sources you discover during your research

In the GRAMPS user interface you can also enter details about events, places, geographic regions, sources, citations, online repositories, media files or personal observations.

Additionally, GRAMPS includes a range of analysis tools that can be used to compare individual events, check localized dates, dump gender statistics, create test cases, extract precise information from databases, inspect and repair databases, and more.

GRAMPS allows you to export your data using several output formats supported by most third-party genealogy applications: CSV, GEDCOM, GeneWeb, GRAMPS XML, Web Family Tree, vCalendar or vCard.

Research your family tree and quickly create graphical representations

On top of that, GRAMPS offers you the possibility to store a lot of detailed information about people and their relationships with various families. Based on the data provided by the user, the app generates a diagram that makes it easy to analyze anyone’s family tree.

Additionally, GRAMPS can store adjacent information related to events, geolocations, repositories, and more, while also including analytics tools to help you better manage and understand your data.
