If you don’t clear your browsing history often, you may have thousands of archived pages that can be difficult to sift through when you’re trying to find something. It doesn’t help that browsers generally don’t offer great history search tools.

It works with Chrome, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi, and it lets you quickly find specific pages from your history, copy them to the clipboard without context switching, or simply start a new search from your desktop.

Find anything you need in your browsing history

The app only works with your default browser, so it won’t work well if you use more than one browser. After launching the command window (⌥+space By default), you’ll see your recent page visits and use them to navigate to the page you want.

If what you need isn’t recent, you can start typing to see a list of matches from your entire browsing history. These can then be copied to the clipboard, at which point the command window will close automatically.

Launch search from desktop

More than just a history browser, iBar lets you search for stuff on Google without opening your browser first. In addition, you can search among supported websites that have their own search functions.

Hotkeys can be used to speed things up, such as holding down the Control key while pressing Enter to trigger a search without navigating to said option in the list. Unfortunately, however, other search engines are not supported.

Useful app, but limited browser support

iBar is a great tool for users who don’t clean up their search history and need to find their visited sites faster. However, Safari and Firefox users cannot rely on it since only the major Chromium-based browsers are supported. Also, it would help if it was possible to search multiple browsers at the same time, not just the default one.
