Image size is an easy-to-use macOS application created from the ground up with one purpose: to help you batch resize, rename and convert collections of thousands of pictures.

The ImageSize utility allows you to add images to the conversion list with the help of the “Add Image” button in the upper left corner of the main screen and by dragging and dropping files from anywhere on your Mac.

Unfortunately, even though it does allow you to drag and drop images onto its dock icon, ImageSize throws an error after every image file you select.

Also, ImageSize doesn’t support adding images via the context menu, which might be considered a drawback for users who are used to managing files this way.

Once you’ve added your photos to ImageSize’s file list, you can customize the resizing options via the “Resize” tab on the right side of the window.

Here you can choose to resize your image collection by selecting a custom width and height combination (in pixels and percentages), and optionally enable the “Maintain aspect ratio” and “Width is maximum size options”.

Additionally, ImageSize allows you to choose a fixed width, fixed height, or a combination of fixed width and height for the output image.

When selecting a resizing rule, you can also use the left sidebar to view the original size, output size and a small preview of the currently selected image in the file list.

On the Output tab of ImageSize you can choose a custom output folder for the processed images, and you can enter a custom renaming mode if you also need to batch change the names for all added pictures.

Additionally, the Output tab lets you choose the output image format for files added to the ImageSize resizing list, as well as the quality level of the resulting photo.
