Infix Pro is a PDF editor that provides most of the functionality expected from a word processor. However, Infix Pro does not come with native macOS support and requires Wine to run on a Mac.

In the main Infix Pro window, you can load PDF documents or create new ones, but keep in mind that the application can only handle one file at a time. Infix Pro can generate PDF, but you can also export pages or articles in HTML or EPUB format.

The user interface of Infix Pro is divided into two main areas: the working canvas and the toolbar that integrates all editing tools. Infix Pro lets you change font styles and colors, create hyperlinks or linked text, take snapshots, insert or rotate pages, and more.

Like most word processors, every time you make changes to a PDF document, Infix Pro re-evaluates the entire content and performs the necessary modifications to provide a unified look.

In addition, Infix Pro allows you to create headers and footers, use a simple find and replace tool to make sure you haven’t missed anything, integrates Bates numbering and translation tools, and even comes with OCR functionality.

In addition, Infix Pro comes with a spell checker that can handle over 15 different languages. On the other hand, document translation is handled by the TransPDF.com platform and relies on the XLIFF standard.

PDF editing tools without native macOS support

Infix Pro enables you to edit the content of PDF documents in a familiar workspace, while relying on the standard tools of any word processing solution.

Nonetheless, Infix Pro doesn’t come with native macOS support, instead relying on Wine to run on a Mac. Editing doesn’t seem to be affected by this, but the interface design certainly doesn’t follow the macOS Human Interface Guidelines.
