Iris is able to take advantage of the available onboard GPU acceleration to record high quality video. Thus, you can enjoy screencasts in different file formats and share them easily through different sharing services.

In addition to capturing your Mac’s desktop, Iris can optionally record video from your Mac’s webcam and up to two audio sources, including the built-in microphone and your Mac’s audio.

It’s also worth mentioning that third-party apps may be required to capture audio from running apps.

Additionally, Iris allows you to encode video during recording or encode it later with the desired codec and provides you with different screen recording sizes. Best of all, you have the option to add and place your own watermark anywhere within the recording area.

As mentioned above, you can choose up to two different audio sources and include your webcam’s video feed in your screencast.

Additionally, the Iris app gives you the option to show the mouse cursor and clicks in the recording, and pan the video as the cursor moves.

The best part about Iris is that you can create, save and use multiple presets with just a few mouse clicks. Accessing Iris’ status bar menu allows you to start, stop or pause recording, mute the microphone and enable or disable the Talking Head, Follow Cursor and Capture Cursor.

All your recordings are available in the History window, from where you can encode video with a codec of your choice and share the resulting recording via email, message, Facebook or Vimeo.
