translate is an unobtrusive status bar menu application that offers you the possibility to quickly translate text, words and phrases between various languages.
The app requires an active internet connection, you can check the developer page for a full list of over 80 supported languages. Note that iTranslate supports speech recognition, romanization, and text-to-speech (including offline mode) in some cases.
Easy-to-use translation tool in your status bar
iTranslate is both unobtrusive and accessible: you can easily activate the translation panel by pressing the status bar menu, or you can define keyboard shortcuts through the application’s preferences panel.

Additionally, a small menu enables you to quickly change the source and target languages, or switch their locations. Also, for some languages, iTranslate offers you the possibility to hear the pronunciation of words.
Effortlessly translate words between languages
Right away, you have to choose the language you want to use: iTranslate offers a simple drop-down menu with all the possibilities available. The app also includes a simple search tool to find specific entries in the list faster.
Meanwhile, when you start typing a word to translate, iTranslate automatically displays a list with dictionary entries that match your input: just select the word you want to use. In the bottom area of the iTranslate panel, you will be able to see the translated form, possible meanings, and phrases that contain the word.

It’s worth noting that iTranslate provides basic translation tools in your status bar: you can invoke the application’s interface with a simple click or use a hotkey, enter a word in the source language field, and instantly see translate. As a result, your workflow is minimally disrupted.
