My Family Tree is easy-to-use genealogy software for Windows. It has been carefully created to help you quickly build your own family tree using a simple and intuitive interface. More experienced genealogists may even find full support for additional evidence and citations, as well as many options for communicating information using the GEDCOM file format. This software can also be used on a Macintosh computer and is free to download.

You will need Microsoft My Family Tree Vista or later to run the software. Depending on the current version of Windows you are using, a newer version of the program may be required. The software is available in two different versions: a free desktop download and a one-time fee for a Windows database that stores family trees and other information.

Many websites offer downloadable genealogy programs, such as Family Tree Maker, which makes it easy to create your own family tree. These downloads offer a much less expensive alternative to hiring a genealogist or public records research. You can print out interactive family charts similar to those found in traditional genealogy journals. You can also create electronic photo slideshows similar to those published in family history magazines.
