Miri is a powerful application that allows you to create multiple notebooks and store daily diary entries with attached files and notes. It supports multiple markup languages ​​and stores text in simple text files.

You start by creating your first journal, which can be stored anywhere you like. Entries are saved as separate text files that can be opened with any text editor, while attachments are stored in their original format.

If you create additional journals, you can easily switch between them from the main window. The app even allows you to transfer entries from one to another with just a few clicks.

After selecting a day in the calendar, you can start writing in the main text field using a variety of markup languages, such as Markdown, Textile, BBCode, Smark, and HTML. Includes preview functionality.

In addition to the standard language-specific formatting tools, you can change the font, font size, alignment, color, spacing, and more. However, most of them are only accessible through the app’s preferences.

Files of any type can be linked to entries as attachments. They are visible in the right sidebar and you can preview them if the file type supports it. These items are stored with your journal and can be accessed without an app.

Comments are not linked to a specific entry; they are always visible, and you can quickly add them to the current entry by dragging and dropping, which makes them useful for storing frequently typed text.

Myary does a lot of things right, and it offers enough features to suit a wide range of use cases. It may look a little dated, but it works as well as expected.
