There are plenty of apps to customize your MacBook’s notch, hide it, and even add notch to older devices, but none of them can add some sparkle to it. so far.

Notch Master Make the notch more interesting, and if you’re a big fan of it, this app will make it stand out even more! It adds various effects to mouseover, such as glows and sparks, and some holiday lights during the holidays.

First, you’ll need a 2021 MacBook Pro. The app also works on other Macs, but you’ll get a “real replacement notch” that’s not as good as the real thing.

After launching the app, you won’t notice any changes at first. But when the cursor moves behind the groove, you get some cool visuals. There are currently five options, one of which can hang some festive-looking holiday lights from your recess.

Cool idea to go further

While these effects are mostly for fun, they can actually help track cursors hidden “behind” the grooves. If more effects are available, a relatively inconspicuous one might work well for this purpose.

Some users may also prefer decorations that are always visible, not just when the cursor moves under the groove. For example, holiday lights would be fun on your screen and add tons of other decorations.

Notchmeister is just a cool project that might make you laugh. However, it does show that you can do a lot with the notch as long as you have some free time and creativity.
