If you are familiar with the terminal, you can access many useful system functions. Even some macOS settings are easier to customize in this way, but not everyone is familiar with these commands or wants to launch a terminal.

One-click It is a very simple util ity that can make some of these commands more accessible. From the menu bar, it allows you to show hidden files, hide/show desktop content, hide/show Dock, disable sleep, etc. It simulates terminal commands through an intuitive GUI.

What it can do

When you click the menu bar icon, there are several options available to you. First of all, you can hide desktop files or Dock immediately, or hide them at the same time to get instant privacy or take screenshots.

You can also show files that are usually hidden on your Mac. This command has a simple keyboard shortcut, but it is easy to forget.

MacBook users can enable/disable battery saving and prevent their laptops from going to sleep for a certain period of time.

Finally, the app allows you to empty the trash bin, clear the memory cache and take regular screenshots. These functions are not very useful, so it might be nice to have the option to delete unnecessary menu items.

Small, efficient and open source

There are many similar applications, so OneClick is not an original idea anyway. However, if you need a simple function that includes one or more of these functions, it can do the job.

The application is small and written in Swift, so it does not take up system resources when running in the background. Given that it just runs some scripts, this is expected.

If you don’t want to use more complex applications for this, and terminal commands are not your thing, OneClick can make your life easier.
