When you think about it, the clipboard has very limited capabilities. Yes, it’s designed to be as simple as possible so that it’s accessible to all types of users, but it would be nice if the OS at least provided an option to extend the clipboard functionality.

cleverly named spaghetti Designed as a third-party clipboard enhancement solution. It’s far from the first of its kind, but unlike most of its competitors, it takes a visual approach to displaying your clippings. Find what you need at a glance, and copying is just as easy.

Remember all your clippings

Just like any other clipboard manager, Paste saves what you copy and lets you access it again later. While some of these apps only support text, Paste truly remembers everything you send to the clipboard, including files.

To access something, just click the app’s menu bar icon or use ⌥⌘V hotkey. From the main window, you can view the latest items and filter them by application and type, as well as search for specific content.

Visually impressive clipboard manager

The user interface is the main reason we recommend Pasta to support other applications. Each clip is displayed in a kind of thumbnail that indicates the type of content it contains.

You can view images and text directly, highlight links, display color codes using the corresponding color as the background, and more. On top of that, the app comes with its own version of Quick View that allows you to preview items by pressing space.

Touch Bar support and obfuscated passwords

If you have a Macbook Pro, the app offers Touch Bar support, making it easier to access your clippings on your laptop.

When passwords are copied, they are usually obfuscated and only saved to disk in encrypted form. This feature should be compatible with 1Password, but we couldn’t get it to work with LastPass.

Overall, Pasta is definitely one of the best clipboard managers out there. It offers an impressive but not-so-great set of features, and its user interface is the most impressive we’ve seen from an app of its kind.
