User-friendly interface and a huge variety of built-in image effects

The Photo Plus app gives you a classic image editor interface, with a central viewport containing your photos, and a left panel with a top drop-down menu to quickly switch between the app’s toolsets.

With the help of the Adjustments tab, you can easily change the Brightness, Exposure, Contrast, Saturation, Gamma and Hue properties of the loaded image using the slider controls. Additionally, an easy-to-use color channel adjustment tool is included at the bottom of this tab.

Effects, the second tab, as the name suggests, helps you quickly add one of the following image effects: Color, Sepia, Oil Painting, Sketch, Vignette, and Focus Blur. They also each come with controls that make it easy to adjust them to better suit your image.

Helps you convert and resize photos

Photo Plus also comes with a built-in pack of 80+ overlays to easily add bokeh, sun, glitter, dust, petal and bubble effects to your photos with customizable offset, opacity and proportion.

The wide variety of bundled overlays also explains the fact that Photo Plus takes up 1.13 GB of disk space, of which 1.12 GB is the size of the overlay collection.

When you’re done tweaking and adding effects to your picture, you can also add custom borders, resize it using percentages or custom pixel sizes, and convert it to JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, or BMP if you want.

As a bonus, Photo Plus can save your current settings as a profile so you can use them for a large number of images (if you need them to have the same look and feel).

As for its downsides, we didn’t find any during testing, but we do have a short wish list: the way you use your mouse to move overlays, and the rotate and crop features to make editing photos easier without using a mouse An additional application.

All in all, Photo Plus delivers on its promise to equip your Mac with most of the tools you’ll ever want to enhance your photos. Also, you can use Photo Plus when you have to resize and convert pictures to various image formats.
