No matter how accessible the note-taking app is, it can never seem to compare with writing down something quickly on an actual notepad. You don’t need to leave the application you are using, no matter what you decide to do on your Mac, your notes are in front of you.

Quick drop It is an open source application designed to simulate a physical notepad as much as possible. You can access it from the menu bar or using a simple hotkey, it will remain on top of other windows until you put it away, and will not force any context switching.

Simple Markdown note-taking application

To open QuickDown, just click its menu bar icon or use ⌘⌥N Hotkey. A small window will pop up in the menu bar where you can use Markdown to write notes. There is no real-time preview or any other fancy features. Everything is as simple as possible.

After you write your notes, you can save them anywhere on your Mac ⌘SYou can also close the pop-up window and add it to your notes later, but it will be cleared after saving.To open it again, use ⌘O.

Take notes without switching apps

After opening the note window, it will remain on your desktop until you press Esc. Even if you click to leave it, your notes will still be visible at the top of other windows. This is very useful if you need to browse what you have written or want to add content immediately.

Another advantage is that there is no need to open another application and switch from what you are doing, just to jot down something.

Convenient notepad, support Markdown

There are no advanced features to speak of, but you may not look for them in an application like QuickDown anyway. It serves a very specific purpose, and it does a good job. Nevertheless, it would still be nice to have the option of changing the global hotkey or customizing the UI to some extent. In addition, this is a very convenient notepad.
