Downloading directly from Spotify without being a Premium user is most likely very tricky, if not impossible. As such, the tool downloads your music from YouTube: it will attempt to match the inputted song name or Spotify URL with what’s on YouTube. It’s not perfect, but it should do the job.

spotDL is an overall solid solution for a Spotify downloader: it should download your music without much trouble. It is entirely possible that it may download an alternate variant of a song, however, such as one with a lower or higher pitch, so it’s not perfect.
