trailer Enables you to connect your GitHub account using macOS Notification Center and receive alerts related to any repository from the comfort of your status bar. The utility organizes alerts by category and periodically checks for new events.

An easy-to-setup GitHub account notification manager

On first launch, Trailer will prompt you for your GitHub access token, which is required to connect the app to your account. Just press the “Create GitHub Personal Access Token” button and Trailer will open the corresponding web page in your default web browser.

Once connected, Trailer automatically checks for alerts and creates separate status bar menus for each type of notification.

Trailer lets you monitor pull requests or other related issues on your own projects, projects you’ve contributed to, or merged or closed projects.

Additionally, a simple search box is integrated into the trailer status bar menu, allowing you to filter messages. Since the app displays alerts for all types of events, such as comments, merges, or simple status updates, the list of messages can become very long.

Personalize the way you view GitHub alerts

From the Trailer Preferences window, you can view a list of monitored repositories and decide which type of alerts to see in each case. The same area enables you to decide how to view messages, which sorting method is applied by default, how Trailer should handle message history, and more.

Note that all these customization options are limited to the trailer app. Since the utility is read-only, your GitHub account will not be affected in any way.

All in all, Trailer enables you to follow GitHub projects and streamline your activities by taking advantage of what the OS X Notification Center has to offer.
