As comments are added, there are several ways to keep track of them. Similar items can be added to notebooks, you can use tags to quickly filter notes related to a certain topic, and important notes can be added for quick access.

Naturally, you have a search function that can be used to find things in all your notes, things in specific notebooks, and things you’ve added to Quick Access.

Customizable layout with focus mode

The sidebar can be hidden at any time, and you can also enable focus mode to disable the note list. Finally, hide the formatting toolbar for the most minimalist experience and focus only on the current note.

In focus mode, you can still cycle through your notes, and if you need to access your notes while you’re working on something else, the window can stay on top of all other apps.

Cross-platform and Electron-based

UpNote does almost everything right. It’s worth mentioning that it works offline, as well as syncing your notes to other devices, and is available on macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, iPadOS, and Android.

Really, the only problem is that it’s an Electron-based application, with the drawbacks that come with that framework. A native app is ideal, but if disk space usage and resource hogging don’t bother you, UpNote is hard to beat.
