GNS3 (Graphical Network Simulator) is probably one of the best network simulators for network analysis. GNS3 has an easy-to-use interface that allows you to quickly experiment and debug system configurations. You can start with the default or custom configuration. The GNS3 package includes more than forty modules, including tools for traffic analysis, VLAN analysis, routing protocols, and monitoring utilities. GNS3 was developed by Cisco to train new network professionals and help them learn how to design and manage complex networks.

The following steps will show you how to set up the GNS3 agent so that you can use it to test and/or debug network applications on your Windows machine. If you are using a MAC OS computer that came with your computer, all you need to do is install Microsoft Network Server (MS Network Server may also be called MSSQL) and copy the GNS3 installation file to your computer.
