Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is a physics-based tactical indie game developed by Landfall for Windows, Mac OS X and Xbox Gamepass. The game begins with you looking down on the battle, where the enemy army is in formation. You must respond by creating your own army and taking into account their position, total number and physical capabilities. Building a successful army in TABS is a trial and error process as you must maximize your in-game budget and your unit’s effectiveness. Your control over the fight ends when you press the Go button. Troops will start marching towards their opponents and showcase the game’s ragdoll-like physics.

Gameplay

There are two sets of characters in Totally Accurate Battle Simulator: Red and Blue. You can play as both red and blue army in TABS sandbox mode. This game mode aims to test as many strategies as possible. You will have full access to both units, the items they have unlocked, and will be able to place them on any map you have, such as the simulation map. The second game mode of TABS is the Campaign. It has eight sub-modes, namely: Intro, Adventure, Challenge, Dynasty, Rebirth, Pirate, Spooky, and Simulation.

The eight modes can be divided into two types: level-oriented and faction-specific. Level oriented modes are Introduction, Adventure and Challenge. The introduction is a guide to TABS, but after completing it, you will keep your earnings. Both Adventure and Challenge consist of a set of levels, but the former has fewer restrictions than the latter. The purpose of Adventure is to allow you to explore the mechanics of the game, including how you can use the chaos on the battlefield to your advantage.

Challenge mode is the main feature of the game. You must create a well thought out strategy if you want to win and advance to the next level. A well-reasoned strategy takes into account the deployment and movement of opposing troops. This mode also reduces the budget of your army compared to the enemy’s points. Renaissance, Pirate, Creepy, and Simulation are four other modes that focus on the strengths and weaknesses of all units. For example, one Skeleton Warrior is weak in combat, but a squad of them is hard to break.
