Facebook’s dark mode finally rolls out to the app as public testing begins

Facebook finally implements its dark mode function for more Android and iOS users in the main app.

The social media platform, together with outstanding reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong, announced on Twitter that it is publicly testing dark mode on mobile devices. Facebook had confirmed the plans of dark mode support for the mobile app a few months ago and had started rolling out the feature for a limited number of users; now it was also expanding.

Jane Manchun Wong announced the public test of Facebook’s Dark Mode function in a video collaboration with the company Alexandru Voica.

For activate dark mode, go to settings menu at the top right of the application and click on click on Settings and privacy

.

And dark mode has been implemented for you, it will be available optional here, which you can activate with just one click. In particular, the function is not yet available to all users

and you simply increase the amount of Android and iOS users who have access to it.

Facebook is the parent company of applications like Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger, all compatible with dark mode. It is therefore surprising that the tech giant has waited so long to implement the expected functionality in its main application.

Facebook dropped its classic design in September, it is therefore mandatory to use the new Facebook interface which was implemented earlier this year. the new design, which began to deploy in March, is supports dark mode on desktop.

Messenger also has a dark mode option for users from last year. The function was also available on Facebook Lite for a few months, so it was only a matter of time before its implementation in the main Facebook application.
