Sounds familiar?

As reported by Empire, Alex Crowned he is currently working on another feature film. “I wrote a low budget horror film, set in the UK,” he told the magazine. He plans to shoot it next year, if the world makes it. “I don’t know if it’s unrealistic or not. Also at this particular moment, a movie still seems unrealistic, but it works one way or another.

It wasn’t Garland’s first idea for a Developers follow-up. In early 2020, Garland was working on another TV show, this one about contemporary protests and dissent, which he hoped to film with some of the on list since Developers. But it didn’t really work, and not for some obvious reason.

“At some point in civil disobedience you have to start breaking things up. So I wrote about the need to break things, ”he told Empire. But, during 2020, with the protests and riots that followed George Floyd’s assassination, things did indeed fall apart. Then he found that he didn’t have much left to criticize, that reality was doing what his writing would have already encouraged him to do.

“I was like, ‘So now what I’m writing doesn’t make sense.’ In the right direction. I almost felt happy, weirdly, ”Garland said.

Seems like it was the best thing that didn’t work. And now the horror calls Garland, and he comes back happy.
