There have been numerous delays in video games this year, and the latest company to report experiencing setbacks from the global pandemic is Studio MDHR. in one letter on social networks, founders Chad and Jared Moldenhauer told fans they would only have to wait until 2021 to check out “ The Delicious Last Course ” DLC for Cuphead
.
In “true Studio MDHR fashion”, the team are not happy with anything but their best work and obviously meeting those high standards this year has been “extremely difficult” under the current circumstances. Rather than compromise its vision and release the bonus content this year, the studio made the “difficult decision” to delay the release.
“We know many of you have been eagerly awaiting your return to Inkwell Isles, and our goal is to make the trip back next year truly magical.”
While the DLC is a continuation of Cuphead and Mugman’s great adventure, it’s also described as a conclusion and that’s why the studio wants this final chapter to be the best it can be.
In July, Maja Moldenhauer of Studio MDHR admitted that the team had “probably” announced the DLC too soon:
“It’s taking us a little longer than we think, but we want it to be a memorable experience. And to be honest, I think in the end we probably announced it too early depending on when we put the pencil to the paper. But at the end of the day, we want it to be a satisfying and worthy experience for Cuphead and it will be released when it’s ready.
