Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition no llegará a PC

Capcom has confirmed PC gamers will be lost much of what will be added to Devil May Cry 5 with the special edition.

Devil May Cry 5 special edition The PS5 Showcase announcement was one of the show’s surprises.

The Special Edition offers ray tracing support, an option for frame rates up to 120 fps, and a playable vergil. The updated $ 40 game will be available digitally in November, at PS5 and Xbox Series X / S launch

. Unfortunately, it will not come on PC.

The only thing the PC will be able to gain from this update is Vergil, which will be available for purchase as a DLC. All other upgrades, including increasing the number of enemies on screen and ray tracing, will not be available on PC.

“Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition is developed and optimized specifically to benefit the system architecture and jump in processing power offered by PS5 and Xbox Series X

, so we focus on these platforms.

Currently, no plans to release DMC5SE on PC Said a representative of Capcom.

Obviously, this is disappointing for several reasons. On the one hand, Capcom has made an effort in recent years to release solid PC ports for its games and support them long after launch. The PC platform is also capable of using ray tracing and all the other enhancements that come with the Special Edition, so it’s not a power issue.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Capcom has snubbed the PC community with a Devil May Cry relaunch. DmC: Devil May Cry received a definitive edition two years after its initial release. Among other things, the updated version included new game mechanics, such as manual orientation. None of these additions made it to PC and the Definitive Edition was never released there.

It remains to be seen whether the game’s new content in Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, with the exception of Vergil, will be significant enough. Outside of ray tracing, that might not be a big deal.
