Building on his previous work on “The Park” and “The Neighborhood” modes, the NBA 2K Developer, Visual concepts, Ad new NBA 2K21 Multiplayer Social Hub called “The city” for the new generation consoles.
Getting started with NBA 2K14, Visual Concepts introduced the idea of a social center full of opportunities to play basketball games, with some Mini games ridiculous. It eventually expanded into “Neighborhood” mode, an even bigger hub with more things to do and seasonal changes. Take a look at the city screenshots in the gallery below.
Visual Concepts claims the city will be “many, many times the size” of previous neighborhoods. The city is made up of four different districts, each run by a rival affiliation. Visual Concepts adds that “hundreds” of players will populate each city.
All players start in Rookieville, a port community where they must prove themselves against other MyPLAYERS before they can enter the city. Each of the four affiliate-controlled Burroughs has their own unique basketball courts and aesthetics that promise new MyPLAYER progression.

The city is also home to an events center, a giant, luminous monolith where all new and recurring events will take place, as well as competitions between affiliations. LED screens and lighting will change the mood of the Event Center depending on the occasion.
The city also has an NPC quest system, with a series of 3v3 single player games and another questline that encourages you to explore the city and play outside of the warehouse.
Other features include:
- A redesigned Gatorade training center where players can strengthen their athletes or rent courts for non-stop play.

Larger 4v4 and 5v5 courts, including a short tribute to Kobe Bryant with the snakeskin motif of the deceased player and a large mural overlooking the court.

After winning 10 games with the members, the reigning team’s ball will catch fire, acting as a kind of bat signal for the other players hoping to knock down the local champions.

Pink Diamond Plaza – A neon pink infused land where the MyTeam Triple Threat mode is located.

Clothing stores where you can buy cosmetics for your players’ avatars. Unsurprisingly, this will feature sports brands like Nike, Jordan, Adidas and more.
Players who wish to dive into the Return Affiliate feature will be assigned a random Affiliate after proving their worth at Rookieville, but can request a transfer that restores their reputation level back to the starting point. Players will earn more representation points by playing on their affiliate courts, and each affiliate can participate in “Rival Day Conquest” and “Rival Day Championship” events to crown a faction as the Kings of the City. .
Some players may even be elected mayors of their city of affiliation and are responsible for creating over-the-top videos that play on jumbotron screens, selecting custom music playlists, layouts and walls, and uniform selection. Visual Concepts says they are preselecting the first round of mayors (corruption!) And each mayor will be a recognizable face of the community NBA 2K. However, the mayors will change every six weeks.
