Nintendo Wins $ 2 Million in Switch Piracy Hack Store Lawsuit

Piracy

Nintendo has taken another positive step in its fight against Switch piracy, winning a legal battle worth $ 2 million.

As we reported in May, Nintendo recently filed a lawsuit against Uberchips.com and its owner, Tom Dilts Jr., a website accused of selling tools that could allow customers to play pirated games. The tools are created by Team-Xecuter, an anonymous hacking group that is said to have launched several jailbreak attacks for the Switch.

The site and its owner have accepted a $ 2 million judgment ordered by the Northern Ohio District Court, as seen in this final judgment proposal

(Thank you, Freak torrent). The decision also means that the store must destroy all of its remaining stock and cannot sell similar products in the future.

“The Plaintiff is hereby rendered a judgment against all Defendants, jointly and severally, in the amount of US $ 2,000,000.”

A second case, which was allegedly brought against eight operators of lesser-known sites, is reportedly pending. Team-Xecuter, the makers of the tools sold, have denied Nintendo’s claims that it is a hacking group and have accused the company

censorship, monopoly control and legal fear tactics, believing they have the right to gamble with Nintendo property.
