Sure, okay, yeah, this is all obvious in hindsight, but I still feel like it took too long for me to admit that the chair in front of my desk (standing) is almost certainly the most important piece of furniture in my house.
Instead, here’s what I thought: I should buy something cheap. I mean, it’s not a sofa in here. It’s not for my family room. I am not buying a bed. Easy, Mr. Rockefeller.
And so began years of bruised elbows, pinched backs, uneven use of faux fur on cheap, mismatched office chairs. If my goal was to spend the money and bother myself a bit for a decade, I did it wonderfully.
So that’s what I once thought, and I could never convince myself not to: my office chair is literally where I spend most of my day. Why the hell wouldn’t he treat him like super important?
It took me a few more years to convince myself of something I wish I had done earlier.
The point is, I’m writing this with the comfort and support of my Herman Miller Cosm high back chair. And here’s why I love it:
