Google Maps location sharing interface gets a facelift on Android, iOS

Google Maps has received several updates in the past two months. It looks like the app now has a new interface for real-time location sharing on Android and iOS devices. The updated interface is also available for Google Maps users in India. It looks like the new shared location user interface has been implemented via a server-side update. It is important to note that the new update does not include any new features, but generally changes the appearance of the shared location interface.

Development came first colored by Android Police and the publication finds that the new shared location interface on Google Maps has been implemented via a new application update (update 10.40.2 for Android devices) or via an update up to date on the server side. However, we were able to detect the new changes in the location section shared with previous versions: update 10.40.1 for Android devices (released in April) and update 5.43 on iOS (released there one week). So it looks like the new changes have been implemented via a Google server-side update.

New interface for sharing location

In the new interface, Google has made visual changes in the sharing window and added the section on privacy policy in the versions of Google Maps for Android and iOS. Likewise, the demand that allows users to select the duration of the shared location on Google Maps has changed.

Users who have not received the new shared location interface can download the latest version of Google Map 10.40.2 from Mirror APK or wait for automatic deployment.

As a reminder, Google Maps received the option to share its location in real time in 2017.
