Former University of Houston striker and current Buffalo Bills defensive striker Ed Oliver Jr. faces charges after his arrest in Montgomery County on Saturday night.

Just before 9:00 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office received a report from a reckless driver in a construction area on State Highway 242, between I-69 and FM 1485. The report said that 39; a white Ford Superduty pickup truck towing a trailer was not keeping track and was driving dangerously in a 45 mph construction zone.

Officers located the vehicle and arrested the driver. The driver was identified as Oliver. According to the scene officers, Oliver had an open beer between his legs and looked nervous.

An MP conducted a field sobriety test and determined that the driver had been damaged.

Officers transported Oliver to Kingswood Hospital for a mandatory blood test. He was then transported to Montgomery County Jail, where drunk driving charges were laid.

Oliver, a product of Westfield High School and a three-year standout from the University of Houston, had a fairly impressive rookie season last year. He finished the year with 5 sacks, 24 solo tackles and a fumble while watching the action in all 16 games of the season and starting seven.

He was the first All-American three times in the history of UH and the first All-American with multiple consensus in the history of Houston. He is one of only three players in FBS history to have won three consecutive AFCA All-America honors and the first player in Houston history to have won multiple Walter Camp All- honors America.
