BAKU / Trend / – A telephone conversation took place between the Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elmar Mammadyarov, and the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Makei.

The ministry told Trend Wednesday that, touching on the current global situation, the ministers exchanged views on the measures taken in the two states in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, and stressed the importance of the international solidarity in this area. theme.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral relations and noted with satisfaction the high level of political relations between the two countries at present. The importance of maintaining and developing trade and economic relations, despite the pandemic, was stressed. The problems of implementing joint projects and cooperation in the fields of transport, logistics and energy were also addressed.

The ministers discussed cooperation and common steps in the framework of international organizations, in particular the United Nations, the CIS, as well as relations in the framework of the Eastern Partnership with the European Union.

They discussed the future agenda for bilateral relations at different levels and agreed to continue contacts in the future after removing all restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
