Ahoy Map Maker is designed to help users create routes for trips and share the map representation with the other participants in no time.
The Ahoy Map Maker app comes with a world map that you can explore by using your mouse, and a couple of simple tools for making annotations.
Navigate the world map and find the area that attracts you for the next trip
The central area in the Ahoy Map Maker main window is reserved for a map view where you get to navigate to different parts of the world. Even though the map comes with a 3D button, during our tests the function could not be activated.
Nonetheless, you can choose to see the world map representation in satellite, standard, or hybrid mode.

Noteworthy is that you can control the map only with your mouse: just move the pointer to the area of interest and zoom in or out by using the scroll button, or with the help of the small buttons placed in the bottom right corner of the map.
However, you cannot move around the map by using drag and drop actions which seems to be the intuitive approach.
Plan your trips and make annotations on the map with the help of simple tools
Within the Ahoy Map Maker map viewer you can set placemarks to highlight a point of interest, create paths that include multiple locations, mark regions of interest by using a circle or a freehand tool, or make text annotations.
Note that each element comes with its own customization options, going from color adjustment to opacity level, dash size, line width, description, image, placement, and so on. You can share the plan with others by capturing the map region that includes all the details and exporting the image to a JPG file.

Ahoy Map Maker brings to the table a streamlined solution for quickly making trip plans and sharing your ideas with others. You get to either create JPG images that include the details or save your projects using the proprietary file format.
On the other hand, during our tests, the Ahoy Map Maker application became unresponsive at times and switching between tools was problematic (if you encounter any issues, try pressing the 3D button and the pointer should return to normal).
