2021 VW Golf R teaser announces November 4 reveal


It was only a few days ago when Volkswagen presented the Golf GTI And now they turn our attention to an even spicier hot hatch. Teased for the first time, the Golf R will come out of November 4th cover, according to a preview video posted to dedicated social media channel R on Instagram.

Interestingly, the adjacent clip shows the T-Roc R for some reason, a powerful compact crossover that’s part of the extended performance lineup of VW

which also includes quick versions of Arteon / Arteon Shooting Brake, Tiguan and Touareg R

. The R-mageddon should also include a Golf R variant based on spy photos showing prototypes of the long-roofed Golf with quad exhausts.

There isn’t much of a secret to what will lie under the hood, because The Golf R is expected to use the same 2.0 turbocharged petrol engine liters than the Arteon and Tiguan models with the R badge. 316 hp and 310 pound-feet (420 Newton-meters) in a car and hatchback duo for DSG only.

Some of you may remember an interesting rumor from the beginning of the year, which spoke of the intentions of VW using inline five cylinder engine Audi.
