The COVID-19 pandemic has hit us all! With social isolation and hygiene becoming more and more important, the simple process of a daily commute has changed forever. Before the Coronavirus era, many Indians went to their offices, especially in metropolitan cities that use taxis, buses, rickshaws, metros, local trains and other forms shared transportation solutions. Of course, there are many who also use their own vehicle, but taking public / shared transportation has always been a way of life for many of us. (Almost 66% of respondents want to buy a new / used car after closing)

Our carandbike survey revealed that almost 66% of those questioned are looking to buy a vehicle within three months of the blockade's closure, even with the dynamics of the car market changing rapidly. 70 percent of respondents respected their initial choice of locking after purchasing a new vehicle. The survey also shows that general inquiries about used cars doubled when closed and that inquiries about car purchases were higher in metropolitan cities than in non-metropolitan cities metropolitan. This definitely coincides with the fact that the number of people using public transport and shared mobility is higher in metropolitan cities and that many of them would now like to have a vehicle in order to maintain hygiene and social distance.

(Inquiries about used cars doubled in Indian metropolitan cities during the closure)

Another important finding from our survey is that almost 28 percent of respondents who asked questions about a new car said that they did not plan to buy one anytime soon. On the other hand, 72% of those questioned would like to buy a new car after the lifting of the stop. Likewise, of those who asked about used cars, 77% of them said they would buy a used car after the fence was finished, while the remaining 18% decided not to buy a used car. Industry sources also found that used car registrations increased 10% in FY20, while new car registrations decreased 28% .

So to answer the question, yes! Most respondents are looking to buy a new or used car after the COVID-19 crash has ended. This indicates that there is a cumulative demand for automobiles as the new standard is established.
